It's wonderful that you have found your way to my art website. In this blog post, I'd like to introduce myself briefly.
I am Laura Peltonen, a 33-year-old artist and graphic designer living in Helsinki. On this website, you'll get to explore art collections I've created over the past five years, as well as individual paintings and drawings.
My artistic journey began in my childhood when I used to draw and paint tirelessly. Though later on, my studies in business temporarily interrupted my creative pursuits, the desire to express myself through art was rekindled when I turned 26. My interest in art led me to study graphic design. Upon returning to studies, I rediscovered the time for painting, and I've been on that path ever since. Nowadays, I work as a graphic designer and create art in my spare time.
Creating art is meditative for me, a way to focus entirely on the present moment. I find inspiration in colors, music, and especially in the art of the Renaissance period. The influence of the Renaissance is particularly visible in the portraits I create. I truly enjoy painting and drawing expressive portraits. At the same time, I feel the need to balance that by creating abstract works where I express emotions through colors, shapes, and movement instead of faces.
